Homemade Laundry Soap

Here are 2 recipes that I have for homemade laundry soap - the first one:

I met the creator of this website at the homeschool convention this year. Her website is actually about helping save money at the grocery store (with and w/out coupons), it is a pretty cool website!! She gave me free samples of the the homemade laundry soap. It worked better than the Tide and All (both Free & Clear) I have and only costs me a penny a load!! I have had a couple of questions as far as sensitive skin. My kids and I all have sensitive skin, and I haven't had an issue. I actually had all the ingredients already and used them on the clothing or in conjunction with my detergent and never had a problem. That alone should have told me something about my choice in detergents!

I find that if you rinse REALLY well it helps ALOT!!! I put my clothes thru an extra rinse no matter what soap I use, because I didn't want to take the chance of a reaction. I didn't do that with this soap and haven't had any problems. I have read on different occasions that alot of the perfumes in laundry detergent are just to cover up the fact that they don't really clean as well... NICE!! This recipe is not perfumey in any way, you can add essential oil but you want to do that once it has thickened. We made a 2 gallon batch and I will be trying Tea Tree Oil in 1 gallon.

The other recipe which I haven't tried yet, is from the Duggar Family.. Yes the one with 19 kids :-) There batch is much larger but calls for the same ingredients. This link goes to there recipe page and the recipe is about the 3rd or 4th on the page. Try some of there food recipes, we have tried the Tater Tot casserole, YUMMY!!!

I will be trying homemade hand soap next!!
